GPT Infraprojects (GPT) has secured an order worth Rs 162.83 crore from the Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners (HRBC), Transport Department, and Government of West Bengal.
The scope of work includes repair and rehabilitation of the second Hooghly Bridge (Vidyasagar Setu), Kolkata, including replacement of stay and holding down cables and bearings, etc.
The contract is in a joint venture of which GPT’s share is 51 percent.
The company has current orders in hand of nearly Rs 2,040 crore including a cumulative order inflow of Rs 790 crore in FY21.
Karnataka To Get Tallest Hanuman Statue
The tallest statue of Lord Hanuman will soon come up in the Bellary district of Karnataka. The statue will be 215 m tall.
The cost of the project will be Rs 1,200 crore. The statue will be erected at Pampapur Kishkindha in Bellary. The funds for the statue will be collected through a nation-wide Rath Yatra.
The Hanumat Janmbhumi Teertha Kshetra Trust will also donate an 80 ft rath for Ram Janmabhoomi, which will be prepared at a cost of Rs two crore over the next two years.
